Day 9 & 10: Visiting Mactan

Start my day with a walk to the Cebu Club and wanted to look for a nice beach at Mactan but my first visit is disappointed. Then walk out and took a Jeepney to Mactan town center where visited the Rizal Shrine.

From Mactan town, took the Jeepney and head on to the west where the 100 roses café is situated. The café is nice and romantic and is a nice to end our day at the café with some coffee or beer.

The whole Philippines trip is not so awesome and the typhoon is just came at the wrong timing causing me dearly on the best heritage site been cancel whole trip. So I have to fly back Kuala Lumpur on the next day with an only smile on the whale shark.

Day 7: Back to Cebu

Then my next plan is to cross over to Bohol but I thought is an easy task but due to the weather and rough sea and there are many boat schedule cancel and it is not easy to cross over. Initially drop by at a jetty to go Dumaguete but is a huge risk and ended up going back Cebu and suppose to have more frequent boat but all cancel and I feel it is too risky to cross Bohol as I might miss my flight next few days if weather is bad.

So I quickly make a final decision and stay at Cebu a night and then went to Mactan for some beach activities the final 3 days 2 night.

Before nightfall, visited the Cebu Church Basilica del Santo Nino, Yap Sandiego Ancestral House and Catheral Church.

Day 6: To Taanawan for Whale Shark watching

Wake up early in the morning at 4am and took the bus to Taanawan at 5am and reaching Taanawan around 9am+.

Quickly look for the hotel and check in and got my diving tour with whale shark at around cost PHP3000 and it is quite expensive as I have no choice to engage this divers and experience myself on the whale shark live show. It is the most beautiful moment and best experience of my whole trip to witness the beautiful elegant whale shark at the deep sea.

Then I have no plan and activities at Taanawan and I just have lunch and walk around Taanawan. Manage to stop by a café house and chit chat with some locals and explaining on the whale shark feeding where many divers does not support the activities but the locals have different opinion on this issue as they don’t cage or lock the whale shark but the whale shark just return back for the feeding everyday.

Day 5: Honda Bay & arrive Cebu

It was another day of disappointment as PPUR is closed and I have to quickly organise another tour to Honda bay where the tour cover 3 islands of better and nice white sand beach as the inland do not have a nice beach. The tour cover 3 islands namely Starfish Island, Luli Island & Cowry Island.

Then the tour end and sent back to the resort at around 5pm. The resort owner is nice where it provide me facility to bath before I depart from the airport to Cebu.

Reaching Cebu very late night and took a cab to the city area where the bus stop to the south of Cebu heading to Taanawan for whale shark watching.

Day 4: Walking tour @Puerto Princessa

Today would be a walking tour of city of Puerto Princessa since the PPUR is closed and a very disappointed day personally. So I took a tuk tuk to the city baywalk and the start my walk towards the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and then visit Plaza Cuartel next to the church. Then walk along the street of rizal avenue and pass by the Palawan Museum. Along the way until the very end of rizal avenue at the east would be the Palawan Special Battalion WW2 Memorial Museum.

After a tough and tiring day of walking through the morning then I stop by a beach but it is disappointed as the beach condition is not good at all and no view. I quickly walk out and drop by a local restaurant for a lunch with roasted chicken. Ending my day with a nice local Philippines massage before going back to the hotel room.

Philippines Typhoon & Dangerous City Experience during October Blog

Day 1: Arrival to Manila Arrived Manila around lunch time and have an Asian cuisine at the airport before departing on the Airport transfer to Robinson Shopping mall. The bad experience on the local transport as it took 2 hours to reach the city with the terrible jam during peak hours between 3 to 5pm.

I walked around to ask and look for a reasonable budget hotel either it is expensive or the condition is not good. The average room cost above PHP1200 around Malate & Ermita area.
