Walking tour of Ipoh Oldtown with murals sighting and some attractions
We stay at Cititel Express where it is near the oldtown. Start your walk early morning suggestion to start from the information center as proposed by the map. Cross the road opposite Cititel and walk a short distance to Jalan Tun Sambathan then turn right towards the big field or padang.
Walk along the side of the field until end of the road where you will see the tourist information office where the first murals located “Old uncle with coffee cup”.
Then the second murals “Paper Plane” is at the next street near the field or padang.
After complete this section then walk back to the cross-junction across the street along jalan Tun Sambathan where most of the murals located with some shopping and food at the end of the walk. The third murals just located along Jalan Tun Sambathan almost toward the end of the road where the murals “Kopi O” is sight near the car park.
Continue the walk until the end of the road and then turn right and we will locate the 4th murals “Evolution” just at the big corner wall of the shophouses.
After the evolution sighting then continue along the road of Jalan Panglima where the 5th murals “Hummingbird” is on the right car park area. Surprisingly all this murals is hidden and not very tourist friendly.
Then go back to evolution mural junction and turn right with a short 100m walk until you see concubine lane where we will locate the 6th mural “Thrishaw”.
After the thrishaw sighting then walking straight to the other road Jalan Bandar Timah and turn right towards the food shophouses and after the concubine lane entrance we will see the 7th murals “Girl” which is the last mural. Then we continue with the ipoh food exploration and also souvenir shopping at concubine lane.
